Journal 5

 The speech I chose is Kevin Durant 2014 MVP speech. Kevin Durant better known as KD is a basketball player who play for the Oklahoma City Thunder at the time of being awarded this MVP trophy. The speech is know for how emotional it was because of his rough up brings. He didn't think when he was a kid that this was even possible. When he was a kid his dream job was to become a a high school basketball teacher. The rhetorical purpose of the speech was to inspire you that nothing is too big in this world and to always dream big and work hard. The reason the speech is so strong is because he talks for his own up brings and uses real life things that happened to his to put you in his shoes. The ending of the speech is makes it so notiable because he puts all the thanks to his mother. He says that she is the real MVP and not him because everything she did for him. If they all didn't have enough to eat, she would skip the meal to make sure they ate. She always pushed him to work hard and give him hope. This speech would still work again because how real it is and the way it makes you feel that anything can happen.

Journal #1: My Goals for this Course

I hope to get better at communicating in front of a large group of people. In the past when it came to talking in front of a large group of people I would freeze up and forget my lines. This would cause teachers to think I used ai in my presentations because they thought I didn't know what I was talking about. It does not matter how much I practice, I just can't get myself to remember what to say once I see a group of people. The way I hope to get better at this is by reputation. I think I haven't gotten comfortable doing it because I haven't done it much. With this class since it is a speech class I hope since we will be doing many presentations I can finally get over my fear of presenting in front of people. Journal #2

 In my PRCA-24 it states that I scored a 93 which puts me at the top range that says I have a high level of c ommunication apprehension. I don't  really know if a 93 is good because  all my sub catorgies are in the 20s. I will stay how I feel when giving a speech and how I will help it. First I feel the stress when I think that people are watching me. For  some reason that has always got to me  whether  it was in class or playing sports, I go on runs but only at night because I don't  like people watching me do things. The thing I will do to help this is when Im practicing at home I will get my parents or even my siblings to watch me give speeches. Journal 8

 I think I am a good listener when I want to be. If someone asks me to listen to their thoughts or feelings, I will sit there and let them talk however long they want to. Then will give them feedback with a situation or a speech to improve. Certain situations that Im very good at is when people are talking about their feelings and need someone to listen to them. I never judge no matter how much they're in the wrong and I will give them tips on how to help that I think will work. When it comes to speeches I think I do worse at it since I'm not good at saying speech. I feel like I can give them tips because I never take my own advice. I think my listening skills have improved my friendships because people usually come to me when they want to talk about there problems.
